Level 1 Range Officers Seminar held in Adelaide May 2010

On the 1st and 2nd of May 15 members attended a Level 1 Range Officers Seminar held at Marksman Indoor Range Facility which provides a very good atmosphere for this type of training and thanks to Marksman.

The members from AUR and Adelaide Pistol Club were well prepared and had completed the Rule book exam prior to attending, the aim of this is to have each member read through the rule book to obtain and respond to the questions in the exam paper, these 15 members sure had done that.

Their enthusiastic approach to all issues was highlighted by the overall results, all exams were take during the program and the final one is a practical exam were participants take the timer and put a competitor (stooge) through as if they were on a stage ready for a course of fire.

This created a lot of fun and my thanks to Rick Young from Kenton Valley for his efforts to do most things wrong than you can imagine, he was DQ many times and with the involvement by all it shows what we all need to be aware of when being a Range Officer at all levels.

Many thanks to the co operation received and thanks to Arthur Martel who drove down from Mt Gambier and Steve Brown our IPSC SA Section Coordinator for their assistance in helping to run this seminar.

Congratulations to all 15 who attended for passing the Level 1 Range Officers Course and trust we may see them all take the challenge as Range Officers in their Club and at Interclub matches or higher in the future. All were invited to consider being a member of NROI , most have applied.

To put something back into our sport and discipline in this way is a reward within itself..
